Hi! I'm an HCI and UX researcher at Samsung Electronics MX division. My work explores how people interact with AI — and how we can design systems that support creativity, initiative, and meaningful human-AI collaboration. I also authored The Great Transformation of ChatGPT (챗GPT 거대한 전환), a bestselling book that explores how generative AI is transforming industries and redefining the future of work.

I often talk about generative AI. In this Samsung SSDC talk, "Developing User and Interaction-Centered AI Services", I shared how to design AI that puts users first.

My research bridges social science, interaction design, and AI, with a focus on building human-centered AI systems. I design AI-infused experiences that turn user insights into tangible interventions — from prompt engineering to system-level prototyping.

Recently, I have been exploring how generative AI can enhance user creativity and productivity in everyday tasks. This includes PromptPilot (IJHCI 2025), a system that recommends context-appropriate prompts based on task type and user input. I also examined user experiences with AI image generation systems, highlighting how prompt refinement and system feedback shape creativity (IJHCI 2024).

Previously, I specialized in conversational agents, developing a high-quality data collection system (CHI 2019 full paper) and designing the group chat facilitator agent Poki (CHI 2020 full paper, CSCW 2021 full paper), which enabled structured interaction in group discussions.

My broader interests lie in Human-AI Interaction, generative UX, and designing interactive systems that support user creativity, initiative, and meaningful collaboration with AI.
